Production

While there are many different philosophies about - and aspects of - production, when we say production what we are talking about is the equivalent of what the director does for a film: from start to finish, they take the script and breathe a new dimension of life into it until it becomes a masterwork on the screen.

We absolutely love to do the same thing for our clients' music! From a small, incipient idea of just a vocal and some chords, we can create a fully arranged, modern production that exceeds even some of the wildest of expectations.

We will work with you from start to finish and help you work out every detail of your project - we can even help with songwriting, lyrics, and conceptual ideas like track sequencing.

Arranging

A great song starts with a great arrangement, and we are here to help get your arrangement locked in.

We are connected with local high-caliber studio musicians, and have a wide variety of virtual instruments and amp modeling hardware and software.

We can help you expand the depth of your arrangement to a professional level.

Recording

We have worked on hundreds of recordings and are committed to using only the highest quality equipment, because our philosophy is that a great mix starts with a great mic setup.

Our studio has a hybrid-focused approach to recording, utilizing both hardware and emulation software to achieve the highest results. We are outfitted with Audix, Rhode, and Slate microphones, Fractal Audio guitar modelers, Focusrite and UAD interfaces, and top of the line modeling software like Neural DSP and Slate Digital.

While we currently operate both the recording room and control room in the same space, the room has been fully acoustically measured and treated to ensure the highest quality of sound is captured in your recordings with no anomalies that would compromise your performance or final mix.

Re-amping

Reamping is a process which allows us to take a dry, unprocessed guitar or bass signal, and send it through high-end amplification, resulting in a recording that sounds exactly as if the musician had plugged into that amp.

The artist must have recorded their parts by connecting their instrument into a DI box that was fed to a recording console or soundcard.

While we currently are unable to offer reamping through real tube amps, we do have the latest and highest quality digital amp modeling available from both Fractal Audio [Axe FX III Mark II] and Nerual DSP. These allow you to not only reamp with a different head and cab, but with an entirely different signal chain if you choose.

Don't love your chorus pedal? We can swap it out. Want to try adding phase but don't have a pedal? We'll add it right into the signal chain.

With digital modeling the possibilities are practically endless. And with the Axe FX III alone, we can offer you over 260 amps, 2,200 cabinets, and 220 effects. We also have over 1,000 IRs to choose from (some that we've shot ourselves) to help further craft your sound.

If you are hoping to reamp with real amps and cabs, please reach out to us to inquire about our timeline for when we will offer the full analog service.

Mixing

Mixing takes a raw recording and creates a professional sound through the use of techniques such as balancing, post processing effects like EQ and compression, panning, and automation.

We offer mixing services for projects recorded in our studio and at other locations - including home studios. Since this is one of our most popular services, we have created a list of items for you to be aware of and consider in regards to recording and mixing, whether you will be working with us to record or not. We can send you a link to this list upon request.

Mastering

There are several schools of thought when it comes to mastering - some use it to correct issues, others approach it as an art with the intent of getting a specific sound.

While we largely subscribe to the latter of the two ideas, we approach mastering as the step that polishes off the sound of a recording after the final mix, helps to make each song in the EP or album cohesive with the overall project, allows your mix to translate well across a variety of sound systems, and prepares it for replication or duplication on physical mediums if desired.

We offer mastering for projects completed here or at other studios.

Please be aware that mastering cannot compensate for a poor mix. If you bring us a mix that you are aware is lacking, we can discuss the possibility of stem mastering, or even starting fresh with a new mix at our studio.

Session Guitar/Bass

Adam currently offers his expertise on both guitar and bass for your projects - those done in our studio or elsewhere.

He uses a variety of high-end guitars and basses along with the best digital amp modeling available to obtain the best and most consistent quality for your recordings.
